Lunch & Learn: Monarch Migration

Practice the delicate art of butterfly observation with Bernheim’s butterfly expert, who has raised and released hundreds of butterflies over the years. Join in on the fun and learn tips to make you more skilled at this delightful art. Quarter Moon Hike

Quarter Moon Hikes include a trek through Bernheim’s holly collection, around Olmsted Ponds to the Earth Measure sculpture, and into the Big Prairie. Bernheim members $10; non-members $12 Ages 8 and up. No pets allowed. Registration and payment due by 4 p.m. day prior to the start of program by calling (502) 955-8512 or clicking the button below. ECO Kids Discovery Day: Damsels and Dragons

Observe and identify real life damsels and dragons – damselflies and dragonflies, that is – with the On Your Own Challenge identification sheet. ON YOUR OWN CHALLENGE, a self-guided adventure, available from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. HANDS-ON DISCOVERY STATIONS, led by Volunteer Naturalists, from 1 – 4 p.m. HIKE OF THE DAY, led by a Bernheim guide, starts at 2 p.m. and runs 45 – 60 minutes $10 per car recommended donation applies to non-members.

First Sunday Nature Hike

Join a Volunteer Naturalist for an engaging nature hike on the first Sunday of each month. Registration is not required. Just show up with your curiosity and comfortable walking shoes. Hikes last approximately one hour. All ages welcome. No pets allowed. FREE $10 per car recommended donation applies for non-members.

Butterfly Dome Butterfly Release

After a week long residence at Bernheim, we're inviting visitors to join us in releasing the butterflies. Beginning at 11 a.m., you will have the opportunity to choose a butterfly from the dome and release it back into its natural environment. Be sure to bring a camera to capture this one of a kind hands on experience. A limited number of butterflies will be available for release. Once they are released, we do not get them back again.
