An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until August 7, 2019

Volunteer Naturalists are ready to lead young explorers and their families on a summer adventure through the Bernheim ecosystem! Discover plants, animals, and the amazing habitats they call home. Program geared toward ages 5-13, but all visitors welcome. Adults must accompany children. Strollers not recommended.     $10 per car recommended donation still applies for non-members.

Creatures of the Night: Insects and Spiders

Our Creatures of the Night series provides opportunities to experience the sights and sounds of nature dramas that often go unnoticed. Journey via van into sections of Bernheim where crepuscular and nocturnal creatures are most active. Led by Bill Napper and fellow Volunteer Naturalists, each program includes some hiking through easy terrain. Full “Grain” Moon Hike

Part of Bernheim at Night, Full Moon Hikes include a walk around Lake Nevin Loop, with plenty of stops to observe the night sky, discuss nocturnal happenings, and consider our cosmic connections. Late Summer Star Stories and Sky Watch

Join Volunteer Naturalists and the Louisville Astronomical Society (LAS) to see the brilliant stars and constellations of summer through the telescopes graciously provided by LAS. If overcast, a virtual astronomy program will be presented inside the Garden Pavilion.
