New Roots Strawberry Jam Festival. Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3640 River Park Dr., 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday. A variety of strawberry dishes including chocolate covered strawberries, gluten-free strawberry shortcake, strawberry salsa and strawberry kale. Also a strawberry man mural by Patrick Sheehan, Simmons College Marching Band, storytelling, strawberry fairies and more.

13th Annual Forest Fest Music Festival. Jefferson Memorial Forest, Horine Section, 12304 Holsclaw Hill Road, 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday. Performers include, Leyla McCalla, Flatt Lonesome, Misty Mountain String Band, Mipso, The Wooks and Jon Strickley Trio. Workshops, food trucks kid activities and field camping. $10 parking. Admission is free.

BloomFest & Spring Plant Sale. Bernheim Forest, exit 112 off Interstate 65, Clermont, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Plant Sale featuring Bernheim Select, a distinctive variety of plants propagated from Bernheim’s own collections, along with a selection of other unique trees, shrubs, grasses and perennial herbaceous. $5 per car. 502-955-8512. www.bernheim.org.

6th Annual St. Matthews Street Festival. Frankfort Avenue from Lexington Road to Bauer Ave., 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday. Music by Radiotronic, Thunderstruck and Chase Skinner. 5K (8 a.m.), food vendors, entertainments, martial arts demonstrations, Kids Zone (with inflatables and vendors) and more. Shuttle service from St. Matthews Baptist (starts at 10:30 a.m.; last shuttle back to church, 10:30 p.m.).

Norton Commons Art Festival & Spring Home Showcase. Norton Commons’ Town Center, 10712 Meeting St., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Arts and crafts, live music, food, beer garden and new home tours. Music: Saturday, Bomar & Ritter, Handcare Prophets, Hermanos, Alex Wright and Tony & The Tanlines. Sunday, Campbell Grissom, Whiskey Bent Valley Boys and Millers Folly. Free.

6th Annual Old Louisville Springfest. First St. and Ormsby Ave, in Old Louisville, 4-9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday; noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Artists, Kosair Charities Kidzone (Saturday from noon-6 p.m.), festival food and food trucks, live music, bourbon slushes and more.

Highlands Beer Festival. ValuMarket, side parking lot, 1250 Bardstown Road, 3-7 p.m. Saturday. More than 60 breweries and more than 200 beers. Benefits The Bluegrass Center for Autism. Tickets are $20 and are available at valumarket.com.
