LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Fall is in full swing, and for many that means two things: colorful leaves and launching pumpkins.
Loading up slingshots with pumpkins is just one of the more popular activities during ColorFest at Bernheim Forest.
The annual event features live music, tons of hands-on nature crafts, like pumpkin painting, and unique local foods. There were also hayrides and a hay bale maze.
If you like heading out to Bernheim Forest in the fall you’re in luck, because it just got bigger.
“We’re also here to celebrate a recent land acquisition at Bernheim. We just added 494 acres just north of us here, so we are really excited about that, too, and it’s just something to celebrate this season,” Communications Director Amy Landon said.
But the fall fun isn’t over yet. This Wednesday, visitors can take part in a “Falling Leaves” moon hike.
