BULLITT CO., Ky. (WHAS11) — Bernheim Forest and Arboretum’s Little Free Library has been recognized as a little free library of distinction.

After learning that none of the little free libraries existed in Bullitt County Mrs. Fox’s fourth-grade glass at Mount Washington Elementary talked to Bernheim’s education department about putting one at the Visitor Center.

The library was built by Bernheim member John Becker using repurposed materials.

Bernheim’s education director said the library offers nature, science and art books for people of all ages.

If you want to check it out, Bernheim is just 20 minutes south of the Gene Snyder in Bullitt County. Admission is free but there is a $5.00 per vehicle environmental impact fee on weekends and holidays.
