With students out of school for spring break and great weather on Wednesday, Bernheim Forest saw a massive influx in visitors – this resulted in the nature preserve stopping new visitors from entering.
Bernheim Forest officials posted on their Facebook page that the area experienced a “high volume of visitors” and encouraged people to come back at a later time.
Just one hour after the original post, officials posted announcing they are accepting visitors. They also provided recommended visiting hours for the remainder of spring break.
A main draw is an installation featuring giant sculptures by renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo. The larger than-life sculptures are made from recycled and reused materials. The giants are expected to live at Bernheim for three years.
