CONNECT at Bernheim Gets Muddy, You Can Too

By Amy Joseph Landon

CONNECT 13 - 23Bernheim invites guests to connect, literally, with the Earth at this years CONNECT at Bernheim. Join us this Saturday, August 22, from 6:26-10:26 p.m. for the annual summer celebration that showcases all that is possible when Art, Science and Nature intersect. New this year — the Mud Play Zone. If you choose to get muddy we recommend you wear your getting down and dirty clothes and bring an extra towel along for the ride home!

Artists will set up around Lake Nevin with funky, fun and spontaneous art displays and demonstrations. Food and beer vendors will also be on hand and of course, great musical performances are always part of CONNECT, including Appalatin and Johnny Berry and the Outliers.

Returning this year is CONNECTglow, a sculpture challenge in which participants create light sculptures without the use of a generator or AC power. Artists, creative individuals and groups that would like to participate in CONNECTglow must complete a CONNECTglow participation form and submit it to Bernheim by Monday, August 10. This will be a juried process with the top artist or group receiving $1,000 and $500 for the second prize.

Cost is $5 per person. Children under 2 are free.

Thanks to our sponsors, Beam Suntory, Inc., Stock Yards Bank & Trust, Wilson and Muir Bank & Trust Co, and 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville.

We’ll see you this weekend!
