Action Beyond Borders

At Bernheim, we believe connecting with nature is important for the health and well-being of our community, and that can happen far beyond the boundaries of our forest. That’s why we are dedicated to working with others on relevant and beneficial projects to help our community and the surrounding communities connect with nature.

Our strategic partnerships with organizations such as Center for Neighborhoods, LG&E, Louisville Water Company, PNC Bank and West End School have led to creative, nature-based learning initiatives, newly planted trees, more and better amenities for enjoyment and exercise.

Here’s a sneak peek into a few things we are taking part in beyond our borders.

Children at Play Network

Studies repeatedly show that self-directed play in nature not only increases a child’s overall happiness but improves academic performance. Learn what Bernheim is doing to encourage nature-based free play with our Children at Play Network.

Tree Planting

We often say that at Bernheim instead of millions of people, we have millions of trees. Trees are vital to the health of our planet and Bernheim is committed to not only protecting the trees that grow in our forest but also growing our region’s tree canopy. You can partner with us to purchase and plant trees in your community or place of work.
