Bernheim continues to defend our conservation easement to protect our land against LG&E’s proposed natural gas pipeline. We have received constant support from the community and partner organizations. Quest Outdoors, an early ally of #savebernheim, has been a proponent in our defense, helping secure a $25,000 pledge from Patagonia. Patagonia’s funding will support Bernheim’s Land Protection Fund, which helps to pay accumulating legal fees in our defense of the LG&E’s condemnation lawsuit against us.
Patagonia’s dedication to environmental activism and conservation has been instrumental in defending protected landscapes across the globe. Patagonia’s history and environmental legacy contributes invaluable resources to situations similar to Bernheim’s. Their commercially-scaled efforts to raise awareness will reach an audience far beyond our borders and capacity. Meghan Wolf, Patagonia’s Environmental Activism Manager, stated, “We hope partnering with Bernheim will help make a change and bring national attention to the necessity of protecting conservation lands.”
