LOUISVILLE, Ky. —Bernheim Forest has announced a fundraising challenge to support the fight against a proposed LG&E natural gas pipeline.

Louisville philanthropists and longtime Bernheim supporters Gill and Augusta Holland pledged a $50,000 towards the cause.

The money raised from the fundraising efforts will go towards legal fees, land stewardship and other land protection activities.

LGE says building the pipeline is needed for natural gas service in Bullitt County.
