Wren Smith wins (another!) award

By Bernheim

Bernheim’s Interpretive Programs Manager, Wren Smith has won yet another award for her outstanding abilities in Interpretation (defined by the National Association for Interpretation as “a mission-based communication process that forges emotional and intellectual connections between the interests of the audience and the meanings inherent in the resource”).

Wren has received awards from the NAI on multiple occasions, including Kentucky’s Naturalist of the Year in 2010. This year, she was given the honor of Outstanding Column for the NAI’s magazine, Legacy, for her column, “Observational Ecology: Renewing the Study of Nature” published in March/April 2016.

Wren is a true asset to Bernheim’s staff. If you haven’t attended one of her fascinating programs, like her popular Wild Edibles programs, be sure to add them to your bucket list. She also leads our nationally recognized Volunteer Naturalist program, for which orientation will take place on January 20, 2018, 1-3 p.m. Be sure to save the date. However you are able, be sure to learn from the force of nature that is Wren Smith.
