When it’s cold outside, we’ve got the month of May…

Things are really heating up in the greenhouses! We have left behind the subzero weather that just won’t seem to break, and have moved on to thoughts of Spring. We operate several months ahead of schedule in the nursery, starting vegetables and herbs for the Edible Garden Grand Opening, which coincides with the Spring Plant Sale and BloomFest on May 17th. Plants for upcoming projects in the Arboretum abound, tasty edibles fill cell packs, and exciting species for plant sales are quickly filling up the greenhouses at the Research Center. It’s the most exciting time of the year, when we gear up for the crazy busy months of Spring to come!
