Bernheim was honored to participate in this year’s Kentucky Gives Day, Central Kentucky’s largest day of giving. The money raised for the 220 participating non-profit organizations was eligible for prize money throughout the day from the Kentucky Nonprofit Network, the host of the online event.
Throughout the day, Bernheim raised $35,025 – a phenomenal kick off to our spring appeal, Soar with Bernheim. We were thrilled to receive additional prize money – a $100 Golden Ticket, which was awarded for the most donations during the noon hour and a $150 prize for the most dollars raised throughout the day from the Central Kentucky Community Foundation.
We are humbled that so many appreciate the hard work we do connecting people with nature. Whether through our conservation efforts, our research efforts, like tracking two golden eagles on their annual migrations between Bernheim and Canada, our our nature-based education programs, the simple beauty of Bernheim, we are thrilled you have made that connection with us, and hope those connections will last for many generations to come.
A special thanks to our founder, Isaac Wolfe Bernheim’s great grandson, Tom Block and his wife, Jody Block for a generous $10,000 dollar-for-dollar challenge match.
Thanks to everyone who donated, and to all of those who help Bernheim SOAR throughout the year, including our 5,000 members (not a member yet? Join here). As a privately-run non-profit, your support is vital for Bernheim to continue successfully achieving our mission.
