Thank you for making the Nature Education Campaign a BIG success!

Portland Middle School field trip to Wilson Creek restoration area.

From December 2017 – February 2018, Bernheim asked for your support in our Nature Education Campaign, and boy, did you all step up! Thanks to a group of generous donors, we had a $25,000 dollar for dollar match challenge, and not only did we meet it, we exceeded it! We raised $29,085 from donations large and small,  bringing the total amount raised to $54,085 with the match.

Currently, Bernheim hosts more than 6,000 students on field trips, providing them with hands-on learning experiences in the best classroom – nature! Field trips at Bernheim offer immersive experiences like wading in Wilson Creek, where kids find crayfish and other aquatic life. The Nature Education Campaign will ensure that more students are able to explore and learn from Bernheim’s award winning educators and large forest block.

Many students that visit Bernheim do not have regular access to natural spaces. Not only are you providing some kids with their first experience with the natural world, you are making a difference in the lives of our future scientists and conservation leaders.

Because of your generosity, kids will learn vital information about the environment and how to be good environmental stewards. Thank you again for investing in our youth and supporting our mission. Bernheim is a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which is totally donor supported. If you’d like to support nature-based education or other Bernheim initiatives, click here to donate.
