Summer Magic at Isaac’s Café: Specials June 27 – July 1

20160627_104231Summer evenings at Bernheim are truly magical. If you have ever sat in the shade near the sunset amphitheater, watched the setting sun dance across the water, or stood under the “Let there be Light” statue overlooking the Big Prairie then you know what I’m talking about.

This past Friday and Saturday at Bernheim brought a new perspective to summer’s beauty. On Friday our team had the pleasure of hosting “An Evening at Isaac’s”. We had good food, interesting conversation, an Edible Garden tour, cooking demo (who knew you could make a delicious garden Alfredo sauce with no butter, cream or cheese) and lively music by The Juggerloos. We hope all the participants enjoyed not only the program but spent some time experiencing an evening exploring all that Berheim has to offer in those quiet hours just before sunset.

Saturday evening 45 delightful folks from the Esselstyn support group of Louisville came out for a healthy dinner featuring the bounty of the Edible Garden and adhering to a Whole Food, plant-based, no-oil meal. The staff of Isaac’s Café rose to the challenge and hopefully made it a memorable and tasty event that will be the first of many to come.

The $5.95 special this week features our fresh roasted beets from the garden. A beautiful, healthy “Beet the Heat Salad”!
