This April, Aaron Rosenblum and Sara Soltau, who curate SONICBernheim will present at the Invisible Places Conference in Sao Miguel, Portugal. Aaron and Sara’s submission for “SONICBernheim: A Site Specific Lecture and Performance Series for Everyone” was one of 50 papers to be chosen out of 238 submitted. Aaron and Sara said of being chosen, “This will be an amazing experience for us to not only present at the conference, but also to make deep connections with others around the world who are working in similar fields. We hope to take our work to Invisible Places and return to Kentucky with new insights, knowledge, and inspiration. Most importantly, we hope to proudly represent our state at a respected international music conference.”

Their presentation will address the challenges and successes of bringing adventurous sound art programming, more often found in larger U.S. cities, to a diverse audience. Sara and Aaron will use audio, photographic, and video documentation to illustrate the processes and outcomes of SONICBernheim.

We are proud that Sara and Aaron can represent Bernheim and provide thought leadership about a program that develops deep connections with nature to a global audience.

A special thanks to the Great Meadows Foundation for helping to fund this experience.
