I don’t know about you but to me, summer went way too fast! This week, on September 22nd, we celebrate the autumnal equinox. The word equinox is sometimes used to mean a day in which the duration of light and darkness are equal. I see it as the day we say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. So before you start sipping on your pumpkin spice latte or making that first pot of chili, take time to savor the last few days of summer.
What better place to spend these last few days of summer than at Bernheim? Enjoy an early morning hike on one of our many trails, bring the kids after school for an end of summer picnic or stroll through the Edible Garden, listening to the hum of life all around you. While saying your goodbyes to summer and welcoming fall, remember to stop in at Isaac’s Café for lunch.
This week’s $5.95 special: So Long Summer Salad! A bed of organic spring mix topped with all that the garden has to offer along with a scoop of one of our house made salads (chicken, tuna, pimento cheese or Benedictine), fresh made garden herb Italian dressing and crackers.
