Bernheim Brings Free Play Expert, Peter Gray, to IdeaFestival

By Bernheim

Bernheim’s Children at Play Network is bringing Peter Gray, a leading expert in Free Play to IdeaFestival® 2017 – the annual celebration for creative thinkers and the intellectually curious held each year in Louisville.

This year’s festival takes place Sept. 26 – 28 at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.

Gray, author of Free to Learn: Why Unleashing the Instinct to Play Will Make Our Children Happier, More Self-Reliant, and Better Students for Life, is a featured presenter on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

A developmental psychologist, Gray will share how free play is the primary means by which children learn to control their lives, solve problems, get along with peers and become emotionally resilient.

A free play zone on the lawn outside the Kentucky Center for the Arts will invite participants to engage in play.
