While Mother Nature and the unsafe road conditions forced us cancel our annual Holiday Open House earlier this month, there is still time to shop at the Bernheim Visitor Center gift shop for lots of great nature related toys, books, home décor and apparel for adults and children. You can also find handmade jewelry and gifts for outdoor enthusiasts, including handmade walking sticks, birdhouses and many other unique items. The member discount, normally 10 percent, will be 20 percent for members through the end of the month.
So be sure to make Bernheim one of your stops this last weekend of Holiday shopping. The Visitor Center gift shop from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. and Isaac’s Café is open from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.
And while you’re shopping the kids can take part in ECO Kids Discovery Day. This Saturday (December 21) is dubbed Hot Chocolate Hike. The kids can celebrate the first day of winter and earn a free cup of hot chocolate by completing the On Your Own Challenge and then turning their worksheet at Isaac’s Café. During the afternoon, they can also have fun exploring the hands-on Discovery Stations and the guided Hike of Day that starts at the Visitor Center at 2:00p.m. And the best part, ECO Kids Discovery Days activities are free!
