It’s Summer Supper Time at Isaac’s: Specials, July 17-21

By Kathy Hart

What do you get when you combine a beautiful summer night in the forest with lively music, Forest Edge wine, an Edible Garden tour and great tasting food prepared from that same garden?  An Evening at Isaac’s, Summer Garden Supper Club, that’s what!  Sign up now while spots are still available.  It’s the perfect combination of food and fun with friendly folks who, like you, want something a little different for a Friday night out.

This is our fourth Evening at Isaac’s and it just gets better and better.  The Juggerloos, (talented, local musicians guaranteed to get your toes tappin’) will be providing the entertainment.  Forest Edge Winery has generously provided the wine for the evening and paired it perfectly with the evening’s menu.  Speaking of the menu, we will be utilizing the Edible Garden to the fullest.  Our tomatoes are nearly ready but why wait.  We will be having a green tomato, charred corn and basil salad along with a southwest themed entrée of garden or chicken fajitas with grilled garden veggies and a variety of toppings, sure to please every palate.  Dessert will be a south of the border brownie topped with a cinnamon whipped cream. I will even demonstrate how to make a slightly healthier version of that same brownie!  You won’t want to miss it.

Bernheim Members $25; Non – Members $30

Registration and payment due by 4 p.m. the day prior to the program by calling (502) 955- 8512. Space is limited.

If you can’t make it Friday night, come on out to Isaac’s Café anytime, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., where we are serving up garden goodness seven days a week.

This week’s meatless Monday special is a whole wheat pasta with garden marinara, side salad and garlic bread for just $6.95.   Back by popular demand, we have our Bernie Sandwich (though still no confirmed Bernie sightings):  a one of a kind creation of cranberry compote, walnuts, smoked turkey and Kenny’s Farmhouse Norwood cheese on wheatberry bread.
