Isaac's Café Brings New Opportunities to Expand Your Taste Buds: Specials June 13-17

By Kathy Hart

6-13-16 Special - Turkey WrapYesterday, I went to support my son at Tough Mudder KY (a grueling, 12.5 mile obstacle course held at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY). This is not a race or a competition, but a challenge. If you throw in temperatures over 90, high humidity and add lots of Kentucky hills, it becomes insanity, but thousands of people do it in many states and even other countries. What always inspires me when I go to support his efforts is the willingness of complete strangers to pull together to help each other overcome obstacles – scary, messy, muddy obstacles that require massive amounts of teamwork from total strangers. They don’t ask each other about their background or beliefs, they just pull together for the common good. It’s a beautiful sight to behold.

In so many ways, Isaac Bernhiem had the same mindset in his vision of a place for people from all walks of life to come together for the common purpose of connecting with nature. What better place than the natural world to find peace of mind that restores body and spirit while communing with others who are doing the same?

The $5.95 special at Isaac’s Café this week is an introduction of our new Mediterranean wrap we have aptly called the Vanishing Act (it tastes so good, it will be gone before you know it). Choose either turkey and cheese with cucumber, black olives, onion and our own tzatziki sauce, or a grilled veggie wrap with hummus, grilled zucchini or eggplant, cucumber, olives, onions and vegan tzatziki all wrapped in a spinach tortilla.

Anytime you try something new, your world bets a little bit bigger.
