Have you made your Spring Break Plans?

By Amy Joseph Landon

Looking for a great outdoor experience at no cost for the family this spring break? If so, you don’t want to miss Spring Break Adventure Week at Bernheim! Here is a reminder of all the great things that will be available:

Boy and Bug Stare Down
Hands-on Discovery Stations, featuring a variety of nature, science, art, and play activities, will be set up daily at the Visitor Center for families to explore at their leisure. Bernheim staff and Volunteer Naturalists will be on hand to help bring each Discovery Station to life! Daily Discovery Stations will be available 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center.

Bernheim staff and Volunteer Naturalists will also be leading a guided nature hike through Bernheim’s spring landscape each afternoon. As you explore the arboretum and forest, you and your family will be challenged to connect with nature in new and exciting ways! The Daily Nature Hike will be from 2 – 3 p.m. beginning at the Visitor Center.

In addition, Bernheim always offers on-your-own hiking, fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and opportunities for free play at our Children’s Play Garden – not to mention the fields, forests and creeks you are welcome to roam.

Groups of five or more (not required for individuals and families) are advised to make arrangements at least one day in advance by contacting Whitney Wurzel, Manager of Nature-based Education, by email or call (502) 955-8512.

All events are free, donations accepted.

We will see you next week!
