Looking for a great outdoor experience at no cost for the family this spring break? If so, you don’t want to miss Spring Break Adventure Week at Bernheim, April 1 – 5. Join us as we welcome our new Giant friends and embark on an adventure with all of these great activities:
Discovery Stations
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Hands-on Discovery Stations, featuring a variety of plant, animal, and nature activities will be set up daily during Spring Break at the Visitor Center for families to explore at their leisure. Bernheim staff and Volunteer Naturalists will also be on hand to help bring each Discovery Station to life!
Fire Tower Tours
Available when staffing is available. Call or stop by the Visitor Center or Education Center (502) 955-8512 to check status.
Join a Bernheim educator to discover the forest from a bird’s-eye-view atop the historic Fire Tower (the original Bernheim Forest Giant). Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Guided Nature Hike
2 – 3 p.m.
Each afternoon, Bernheim educators will lead a guided hike beneath the budding forest canopy starting at the Visitor Center. Children of all ages are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
Special Concert with Mr. Dan!
Wednesday, April 3; 1 – 1:45 p.m.
Join us for a nature song extravaganza with our own Mr. Dan. Sing, dance, and rock out to songs that celebrate the plants and animals of Bernheim. This family concert is appropriate for all ages.
In addition, Bernheim always offers on-your-own hiking, fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and opportunities for free play at our Children’s Play Garden – not to mention the fields, forests and creeks you are welcome to roam.
Registration is not required for individuals or families, but groups of six or more are advised to RSVP at least one day in advance. Contact Dan Pascucci, Nature-based Educator, at dpascucci@bernheim.org or (502) 215-7136.
All events are free, donations accepted (recommended donation is $10 per car).
See you during Spring Break!
