I love it when I hear someone who just stepped into the Visitor Center exclaim, “Wow, something smells amazing!” Usually this occurs in the hours just before Isaac’s Café opens at 11 a.m. while we are turning the day’s harvest into that day’s lunch, but often it lingers throughout the day. Any time onions, mushrooms, garlic or fresh herbs are cooked together it has a magical way of causing folks to follow their noses right over to our counter.
It’s been studied that scent memory is one of the strongest connections to our past. Our mission at Bernheim is to connect people with nature, but we want to do more than just that. We want our visitors to develop deep connections that last far beyond the present experience. What better way to do that than by following your nose to Isaac’s Café? There you will find fresh-from-the-garden ingredients being prepared to not only feed your hungry body but also to connect you with pleasurable memories that will keep you coming back for more.
This week’s $5.95 special: Grilled smoked turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich with our own special sauce, sweet spicy pickles and a cup of soup.
Try our new confetti couscous for just $1.59!
See you at Isaac’s café this week!
