Don’t miss the action at the Visitor Center

By Amy Joseph Landon

It may be chilly outside, but Bernheim’s Visitor Center is full of activities to enjoy indoors now through the end of the year.

Don’t miss ECO Kids Discovery Days on Saturday, December 18. Bernheim’s award-winning Volunteer Naturalists will be on site with hands on activities for kids of all ages. ECO Kids Discovery Days occur on the first and third Saturday of each month and include:

  • Hands-on Discovery Stations, led by volunteer naturalists, at the Visitor Center from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Hike of the Day, led by a Bernheim guide, starts at the Visitor Center at 2 p.m. and runs 45-60 minutes
  • Pop-up Story Circles, because everything and everyone has a story. Watch for our storytelling and story-sharing circles near Spirit Nest (weather permitting)

Come in from the cold and warm up with a hot bowl of home made soup. Each bowl of soup at Isaac’s Café, located inside the Visitor Center is made with produce harvested from Bernheim’s own Edible Garden, located just 200 steps away. Check out the daily specials board for the day’s soup selection and prepare to be delighted.

Still need the perfect holiday gift or décor? Bernheim’s Gift Shop has you covered. And through December 30, current Bernheim members receive a 30% discount throughout the store.

The Visitor Center and Isaac’s Café are open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
