The deadline for Bernheim’s 2019 Artist in Residence program was January 21st and (as always!) we are thrilled with the overall number, diversity of media and geographic range of this year’s pool of applicants. We received a total of 160 submissions (!!) from 28 states and 31 countries including Argentina, Columbia, France, Guatemala, Hungry, Lebanon, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Uruguay! Additionally, there were 22 regional artist applicants from Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Applications are distilled through a two-tiered, on-line review process into a shortlist which is brought to an esteemed panel of regional curators, alumni artists, and art leaders where final selections are made. Applicants will be notified of their application status in late March 2019, or as soon as possible, depending on the availability of the reviewing panelists. Stay tuned for the exciting results!
