fossilsFeeling a little cooped up?  Too many snow days indoors?  Then put on your coat, hat, and gloves and head outdoors to connect with nature at Bernheim this weekend.

It’s the third Saturday of the month and that means it’s ECO Kids Discovery Day.  This Saturday is all about Fossil Fun.  Investigate fossils and unlock the secrets of ancient life at Bernheim.  Come by the visitor center for the On Your Own challenge from 9:00am to 5:00pm.  From 1:00pm to 4:00pm join our volunteer naturalists at Hands-on Discovery Stations and participate in the Hike of the Day at 2:00pm. Saturday, January 18 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

And it’s also time for the Kentuckiana Rock-Swap & Lithic Art Show, taking place this Saturday (January 18) from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. at the Visitor Center. Join us and enjoy demonstrations and chipping of flint into arrowheads, knives and other ancient weapons.  Chert and flint from the region, modern reproductions and primitive arts will be for sale.  Real ancient artifacts will be on display.
