Join us for Bernheim’s annual celebration of fall at ColorFest on Saturday, November 2, and Sunday, November 3, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. Immerse yourself in the spectacular array of color that fills Bernheim’s landscape with two days of family fun in nature!
Enjoy crowd-favorite activities like the giant slides, mud pie kitchen, pumpkin rolling, and more, while also experiencing new activities that elevate the science of color in nature. Other highlights of Bernheim’s longest-running festival also include live music, hands-on nature activities, and delicious local food and drink.

- Mud Pie Kitchen – Craft and decorate your perfect mud pie in Playcosystem Zone 2.
- Bean Bag Launch – Test your strength and see if your bean bag can reach treetop heights!
- Discovery Stations – Dive into nature with our volunteer naturalists and explore the wonders of the wild.
- Nature Concerts with Mr. Dan – Family-friendly music inspired by nature.
- Natural Areas Booth – Discover hidden areas, critters, and wildlife usually unseen by the public.
- Pumpkin Roll – It’s like bowling but with pumpkins!
- Seed Sleuth – Can you match the seed to its perennial plant? Test your plant knowledge.
- Autumn Arts & Crafts – Create seasonal works of art to celebrate the beauty of fall.
- Honor the Eagle Nation – In partnership with the Speed Art Museum, enjoy drumming, dancing, and an Indigenous knowledge exhibition from the Kentucky American Indian Resource and Community Center. Sunday only.
- Host Plant Habitat – Learn about the special plants that host different organisms and their role in nature.
- Giant Slides –Take a thrilling ride down our giant slides.
- Monarch Migration Station – Learn about monarch butterflies and discover their incredible journey as they migrate south.
- Kentucky Science Center – Enjoy interactive fun and hands-on learning with the Kentucky Science Center. Sunday only.
- Meet 2024 Artists in Residence – Get to know the current resident artists, Lili(ana) and Michelle Pollock, and explore their inspiring work.
- Día de los Muertos Altar at the Spirit Nest – Honor loved ones and celebrate life during a special gathering at the Spirit Nest.
