Hidden in Plain Sight: Isaac's Café Specials, March 14-18, 2016

By Kathy Hart

3-14-16 SpecialI’m sure you have heard the phrase “hidden in plain sight”.   At Bernheim,  now is the perfect time to find things hidden in plain sight if you just know where to look.  I can’t tell you how many times I have walked right past a newly bloomed wildflower only to have Wren Smith, our Interpretive Programs Manager, point it out behind me.  She uses what she calls her “searching image” for these briefly blooming beauties. I, on the other hand, have a searching image for food! Perhaps you have come into the Visitor Center, shopped in the gift shop, gotten a trail map, used the restroom and left, not even realizing that Isaac’s Café is right there “hidden in plain sight”!

I encourage you, the next time you visit, to search out a delicious meal from Isaac’s Café and perhaps it will become your searching image.  We specialize in fresh soups from the bounty of our Edible Garden, unique sandwiches, and locally made desserts.

Our special this week:  Grilled pastrami and Swiss cheese on rye with spicy brown mustard and a side of cooked cabbage (after all, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this week).   Just $5.95

Be sure to stop in on March 17th for a bowl of Corned Beef and Cabbage for just $5.00.
