Winter Hours Have Arrived at Bernheim

VisitorCenter_winter10We are just days away from winter solstice and the holiday season. With these arrivals, our operating hours will vary slightly, including at the Visitor Center and Isaac’s Café.

Bernheim will be closed on Sunday, December 25 and Sunday, January 1. The park will be open, but buildings will be closed on Saturday, December 24.

As of November 1, the Visitor Center hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on weekends.

Isaac’s Café will be open Monday-Friday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 11 a.m – 3:30 p.m. on the weekends. Don’t worry if you visit after Isaac’s is closed. We will have plenty of grab and go options for you, including freshly made sandwiches, soup (take some home for dinner!), and more. Check the refrigerated case for the daily options using ingredients harvested from Bernheim’s own Edible Garden.

Because it now grows darker earlier, Bernheim’s closing time will change. We open at 7 a.m. year round. Now through February 1, the gates will close at 5 p.m. Forest Hill Drive will close at 4 p.m. and the Guerrilla Hollow area will close at 4:30 p.m. If you plan on heading out for a hike, we ask that you do not depart on the Millennium Trail after 11 a.m. and Elm Lick Loop after 1 p.m. This will leave you plenty of time to be safely off the trails before sunset.

We hope you will find time to visit during these shorter, chillier days. Winter is a great time to go for a hike to discover the details of the bare trees or see the sparkle that reflects off a fresh snow when the sun returns. Make sure you finish by warming up at Isaac’s Café with a cup of hot cocoa or fresh bowl of soup.
