“Wild” Food – Investigating Four Seasons of Wild Edible Plants

Have you ever wanted to subsist on the bounty of nature? Ever wondered which berries and leaves are safe to eat, and which are not?
The forest can be a veritable buffet of delicacies, and wild plant foods can be found and harvested throughout the year. Join Bernheim’s Interpretive Programs Manager Wren Smith to investigate four seasons of wild edible plants. The workshop includes an indoor presentation, recipes, and a few samples from each season. Participants will also accompany Wren on a foraging expedition through the forest to find ingredients for their own dishes. Wren is a wild food enthusiast with more than three decades of leading workshops and hikes on this subject.

The cost for Bernheim Members is $20 and for non-members is $30.

This workshop runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. Registration and payment are due by 4 p.m. on the day prior to start of program. Call (502) 955 – 8512 to register.
