The Thinking Tree: Isaac's Café Specials April 4 – April 8, 2016

4-4-16 Special - Hot DogI hope everyone is ready for a Tree-rific spring break!   This is the perfect time to fall in love with trees.  The red buds are in full color, the dogwoods are just about to pop, and the colorful fabric of the landscape is changing every day. As a parent, there is no better time to introduce your child to the wonders of trees. They hold magic for children in ways we may have forgotten.

When my daughter, Casie, was 8 years old, she had a special willow tree at the park where her brother played t-ball.  I found this out the hard way when it was time to leave and I could not find her.  Then I heard a voice saying “Mom, in here”.  I spread the curtain-like limbs and there she was, perched in the branches.  That’s when she introduced me to her “thinking tree”.  She even wrote a poem about it that day and I know she would not mind me sharing it with you.

THE THINKING TREE

I have a special thinking tree where I can go and hide.

It has a secret entrance so I can go inside.

I climb upon the branches and to the top I go.

No one will ever see me, no one will ever know.

The thinking tree has magic, myths and legends say,

that if you sit there long enough, your troubles melt away.

So if you have a problem, that’s way too big for you,

come over to my thinking tree, there’s always room for two!

So come on out and find a special tree. With over 14,000 acres, I’m sure there is one just right for you.  While you’re here, stop in for our spring break special at Isaac’s Café!

$5.00 Spring Break Special:  Your choice of either grilled cheese, fresh-made Pimento cheese, PB&J or a Boar’s Head jumbo all-beef hot dog,  served with chips and your choice of tea or lemonade.
