Materials: Permanent adhesive, vinyl on glass

During her residency at Bernheim, Lee Emma Running was inspired by the American Sycamore tree, a symbol of strength, protection, and the presence of waterways. Her site-specific installation, Sycamore Hatch, features colorful, transparent vinyl designs that fill the top three tiers of windows in the Sassafras Room of the Visitor Center, capturing the tree’s distinctive bark and canopy.
