If you visited Bernheim in the past, you might have experienced the excitement of the aquarium and terrarium located inside the Visitors Center. Before starting as an education intern, I visited Bernheim often and always looked forward to watching the fish swim around in the aquarium and the toad hop about in the terrarium. The tanks were recently moved to the Education Center, where I have been working endlessly to get them cleaned out and ready for new habitats. I’ve been excited about this project all summer due to my passion for wildlife, but the cleaning-out process of the project took a lot more time and work than anyone expected.  I am very excited to say that they have been thoroughly cleaned out we are in the process of installing a new habitat in both tanks! I will be sure to update everyone when the aquarium and terrarium are ready to be seen by the public, so keep checking back for a new post this month!

Forest Hill Drive and Guerilla Hollow trails are closed through Saturday, April 1 due to high winds. The Arboretum, including the Visitor Center, Playcosystem, and the Forest Giants Trail, will remain open.
