Past Artists in Residence

Stephen Ausherman, video mapping project at Bernheim, 2012, projected on to Paul Field’s Untitled, 1980.

For four decades, the Artist in Residence program has attracted artists from around the world who seek to use Bernheim as their inspiration. From photographers and painters, to video and installation artists, this unique residency attracts artists from all mediums who explore nature based works that fulfill Bernheim’s mission of connecting people to nature through the lens of art. Currently the Bernheim Artist in Residence is awarded to up to four artists a year who are selected to create works within the forest and/or arboretum that are inspired by and potentially installed in the natural world. The following is a list of past Artists in Residence with links to their work.
