Part of the Legacy: Isaac's Café Specials, February 29-March 4

Miso Soup and Asian Slaw - 2-29-16“If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people.”  – Confucius

Here at Bernheim, you will find all of the above taking place. What a joy to be a part of the beauty of generations to come. Today’s seeds are being planted in the Edible Garden and will become fresh soups and salads this summer. Native rare and endangered trees are being planted so that our children and grandchildren will always be able to sit in the shade of an American Elm. Volunteer Naturalist training, field trips, and many other educational programs take place every week at Bernheim to ensure that the legacy of Isaac Bernheim lives on. Come out and join us this week to be a part of this continuing story.

This week’s special: bowl of garden miso soup over rice, Asian slaw and hot tea just $5.95.
Soup of the week: garden miso: a rich miso broth loaded with garden vegetable, grilled tofu served over rice. Cup: $2.95 Bowl: $3.95
Side of the week: Asian slaw, cabbage, kale, carrots and slivered almonds in a ginger sesame dressing. Just $1.59
