Camp Bernheim Returns for Wild Summer Adventures

By Caitlin Eckard

June 1 officially kicked off another exciting season of Camp Bernheim! From creek exploration and kayaking adventures to hiking forest trails and making Friday s’mores around the campfire, campers are already jumping into unforgettable outdoor experiences.

Camp Bernheim offers two age groups designed to inspire curiosity and confidence in nature:

  • Novice Naturalists (ages 6–8)
  • Expert Explorers (ages 9–12)

Each week is filled with hands-on discovery and outdoor fun. Campers can cool down while hiking through Rock Run Creek in search of crayfish and fossils, paddle across beautiful Lake Nevin while learning about Bernheim’s beaver habitats, and explore the forests, creeks, and wildlife that make Bernheim such a special place. Nature-based crafts, imaginative outdoor play, and plenty of time to connect with the natural world help make every camp session unique.

Our camps encourage kids to learn, grow, build friendships, and gain confidence through exploration and adventure in the outdoors. Snacks are provided daily, and Fridays always end with one of camp’s favorite traditions, s’mores by the fire.

The adventure doesn’t stop there. Camp Bernheim’s Teen Camp (ages 13-16) on June 16–18, 2026 gives older campers the chance to go birding, tour art in L+A+N+D, and climb Bernheim’s Historic Fire Tower while experiencing nature from a new perspective.

And because outdoor fun isn’t just for kids, Camp Bernheim is offering an Adult Day Camp on July 25. Adults can reconnect with their sense of adventure through hiking, kayaking, and a full day spent immersed in nature.

There’s still time to join the fun this summer, but spots are filling quickly. Register for all camps today!
