Meet Megan, Our Newest Ranger

By Bernheim

We’re thrilled to introduce Megan Fargher as our newest ranger! Megan started at Bernheim in early June. She is already feeling at home in our diverse landscape.

Megan’s passion for the outdoors began early in life and inspired her to become a ranger — a lifelong dream she’s now fulfilling at Bernheim. Her interests in wildlife science, management, and tracking align closely with Bernheim’s daily work. She plans to complete her degree in the coming years as she continues to grow in her role and deepen her connection to this field. When asked why she enjoys Bernheim, Megan shared, “What drew me to Bernheim was the chance to work in such a beautiful park, rich with biodiversity and countless learning opportunities.”

When she’s not at Bernheim, you can probably find Megan hiking, camping, fishing, or kayaking. Exploring nature is her favorite way to spend her free time. She also loves to travel. Megan has lived in five states and visited eleven countries so far. Some of her favorite animals and insects include rainbow trout, opossums, fireflies, and luna moths. She is especially inspired by nature’s resilience and its constant cycle of change.

Megan is looking forward to meeting visitors from all walks of life and hopes to leave a positive impression on everyone who visits. Be sure to say hello the next time you see her — she can’t wait to share her passion for nature with you.
