The family doesn’t have to go far this year to enjoy a fun outdoor Spring Break getaway! Bernheim has planned a special week of daily drop-in activities and guided nature hikes for children of all ages. We also offer on-your-own hiking, fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and opportunities for free play at our Children’s Play Garden – not to mention the fields, forests and creeks you are welcome to roam.
Hands-on Discovery Stations, featuring a variety of nature, science, art, and play activities, will be set up daily at the Visitor Center for families to explore at their leisure. Bernheim staff and Volunteer Naturalists will be on hand to help bring each Discovery Station to life! Daily Discovery Stations will be available 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Visitor Center.
Bernheim staff and Volunteer Naturalists will lead a guided nature hike through Bernheim’s spring landscape each afternoon. As you explore the arboretum and forest, you and your family will be challenged to connect with nature in new and exciting ways! The Daily Nature Hike will be from 2 – 3 p.m. beginning at the Visitor Center.
Groups of five or more (not required for individuals and families) are advised to make arrangements at least one day in advance by contacting Whitney Wurzel, Manager of Nature-based Education, by email or call (502) 955-8512.
All events are free, donations accepted.
