Improving Traffic Flow and Safety: Arboretum Loop Going One-Way

In the spirit of our commitment to exceptional visitor experience, our team is working to improve the way members and guests move through the park.

Wayfinding Signage at the Visitor Center at Bernheim Forest and Arboretum

Improving the safety of our guests is a top priority at Bernheim. We’ve recently marked crosswalks with high-visibility paint to provide clear crosswalk paths across Arboretum Loop and alert drivers to visitors on foot. We also added new directional signage and labeled parking lots to help visitors find parking, reduce congestion, and provide clear wayfinding and direction.

One-way signage along Arboretum Loop at Bernheim Forest and Arboretum

On August 25, Arboretum Loop will convert to one-way traffic. Most of Arboretum Loop is already one-way and by making it 100% one way, this change will eliminate confusion around traffic flow. Our operations team have installed bollards, stenciled paths, and will be adding additional one-way signage along the route ensuring safety for pedestrians and bikers.

Thank you for being a member of Bernheim Forest and Arboretum! We appreciate your support and love for the forest!
