Get Involved: Help Remove Invasive Species

By Amy Joseph Landon

Garlic Mustard

This flowering plant may look pretty, but it’s actually Garlic Mustard, which is harmful to the forest’s ecosystem. You can make a difference and help protect our native wildlife by volunteering with the natural areas team. Come out to Bernheim on Wednesday, April 17th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to learn about the growing problem of invasive plants. We will meet at the Visitor Center and then head out to remove non-native plants in a variety of terrains within Bernheim ranging from moderately strenuous to easily accessible areas. Wear clothing appropriate for outdoor work including a good pair of hiking shoes, gloves, long sleeves, and pants. This events may be rescheduled due to weather, check for updates on Facebook or contact Bernheim’s natural areas staff. We hope to see you there!
