I hope you’ve saved some time on your busy schedule this weekend for a one of a kind program. This Friday evening, October 28 from 6-8 will be an Evening at Isaac’s Fall Garden Harvest Buffet and Cooking Demonstration.
Isaac’s Café will be cooking up a fall feast starting with fried sage and butternut squash tarts along with other tempting appetizers and hot apple cider. We will then take a short stroll over to the Edible Garden to see what’s growing and how the fall garden can be utilized to its fullest. Then it’s back to the patio for a brief cooking demonstration of the night’s main course, white bean and kale with smoked sausage over baked polenta (a vegan/vegetarian version will be available). We will have a winter salad with warm herb dressing and a baked apple bread pudding for dessert. All this while enjoying the musical talents of our own Casey Hammett playing acoustic favorites. Forest Edge Winery, our good neighbors from across the street, will be on hand to provide a little something to take the chill off. Buy a glass or take home a bottle of your favorite wine.
It should be a lovely evening on the patio. Dress warm and enjoy an evening of good conversation, tasty garden fresh food and toe-tappin’ music as Bernheim and Isaac’s Café connect people with nature!
Bernheim Members $20; Non-Members $25
Registration and payment are due by 4 p.m. on the day prior to start of program; call (502) 955- 8512.

This week’s $6.95 special at Isaac’s is our newest sandwich, THE BERNIE! In honor of our resident black bear, making his way around the forest eating nuts and berries. We start with wheatberry bread, a smear of cranberry and walnut compote, layer on smoked turkey, norwood cheese, fresh greens and a smear of citrus-sage mayo. You’ll “bearly” be able to contain your excitement. It’s Grrrreat! This week only, served with your choice of sweet/unsweet tea or lemonade.
