Bernheim’s Arts in Nature team is calling for unique experiences that will activate the heavily trafficked, 1.3-mile Lake Nevin Loop during Bernheim’s CONNECT event on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 5:33 pm to 11:33 pm EDT.
CONNECT 2024 Call for Creatives
Submission Deadline July 19, 2024 / Midnight EDT
Discover the enchanting fusion of live music, art, science, and nature at CONNECT, Bernheim’s annual eclectic evening event. Experience Lake Nevin as it bursts with spontaneous art, light sculptures, and musical performances by renowned artists, complemented by interactive art and science activities.
This year we are particularly interested in proposals for performance art, dance, sound art, and LED art activities, as well as demonstrations or drop-in workshops, in addition to sculptural artworks installed along the event path or floating on Lake Nevin. Bernheim values creative experiences that emphasize our mission of connecting people with nature while celebrating the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Proposals highlighting sustainability, waste minimization, the use of repurposed materials, and addressing clean air, clean water, biodiversity, climate change, or cultural and community connections will be prioritized.
CONNECT is a vibrant annual summer celebration where Lake Nevin transforms into a dynamic space hosting art, music, and science. Thousands of attendees will enjoy your work before and after sunset. For more details and to submit your proposal, please download the submissions form.
June 10 – July 12: Artists are encouraged (but not required) to visit Bernheim’s Lake Nevin for a site visit and meet with the Arts in Nature team to discuss proposal ideas and potential site locations. Contact Arts in Nature Curator Jenny Zeller at jzeller@bernheim.org to schedule an appointment during this timeframe. While we appreciate artists’ preferences for location, Bernheim will determine the best placement for selected art experiences and activations.
