We’re thrilled to share that Bernheim Forest and Arboretum has been named one of Southern Living’s “25 Places to Go in the South in 2025”! This incredible recognition underscores Bernheim’s reputation as a premier destination for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and art admirers alike. Here, nature and creativity unite to offer an experience like no other.

“Bernheim is proud to be named by Southern Living as one of the Top 25 places to visit in the south.  Annually, we reach over 300,000 guests from all 50 states and numerous countries. We are exited that this recognition will help us drive even more Eco – and Arts in Nature-tourists to Kentucky,” stated Dr. Mark K. Wourms, President and CEO at Bernheim.

Spanning over 16,000 acres, Bernheim’s forests, wetlands, and meadows deliver beauty year-round. Must-see highlights include the Forest Giants Trail, Playcosystem, Canopy Tree Walk, and Edible Garden. Each season reveals new wonders, offering visitors endless opportunities to connect with nature.

Our newest initiative, L+A+N+D (Landscape + Art + Nature + Design), takes creativity to the next level. This annual program features large-scale outdoor installations that explore themes of biodiversity, sustainability, and the human relationship with nature. Located along trails like Ten Toms Loop and Magruder Meadow, L+A+N+D provides an ever-changing blend of art and the natural world.

With over 16,000 acres and endless adventures waiting, Bernheim is a place to explore, connect, and be inspired.
