My Bernheim Story: Lynn Medley

By Jenny Zeller

Contributor Lynn Medley (on left with barrettes in hair) and her siblings at Bernheim in the late 1960s.

We went to Bernheim frequently with cousins to have picnics, walk trails and see the animals on view near the Education Center, which I remember being the original Visitor Center. The Visitor Center had many interactive stations including listening to bird calls. Also I went to Bernheim on school field trips with my friends. So many great memories of fun times at Bernheim! I now try to give back by volunteering in hope for  future generations to have the same wonderful experiences I had.

*The photo Lynn submitted is of her and her siblings, sitting on a curvy boulder across from Kingfisher Pond and behind the Education Center (formally the original Visitor Center). That Boulder is still there along the trail, and continues to attract kids and families to this day.
