2020 Artist in Residence
Materials: American sycamore tree, copper leaf, rabbit skin glue.
Sycamore Haven is a site-specific installation inspired by the American sycamore tree, a symbol of protection and resilience. Running used copper leaf and hand-drawn patterns inside a hollow section of the tree to reflect the intricate networks found in its seeds and surrounding creeks. The work transforms natural forms into a luminous, contemplative space, inviting viewers to connect with the patterns and growth of the forest.
Location: Creek crossing, approximately 2 miles into the Elm Lick Trail.
