Bernheim Residents is a mural created during Lutzwolf’s 2025 residency at Bernheim Forest. During her stay, Nellie hiked all 20 trails and 40 miles through Bernheim’s forest, which led her to discover the diversity of the terrain. Her mural features 20 plants and animal species that are “imperiled,” meaning they are quite rare to see, reflecting the forest’s biodiversity. Each species was chosen for its ecological significance and its ability to spark curiosity and conversation, drawing attention to both seen and unseen life supported and protected by the forest.
Location: Visitor Center, near Isaac’s Café.
