Join us this Saturday for BloomFest

By Amy Joseph Landon

Spring has arrived – birds are chirping, trees are flowering and leafing out, and days are warmer. It can only mean one thing – it’s time for BloomFest!

Join us on May 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a day full of springtime fun.

The day will include a variety of activities for children and families including the popular Faerie Village, where you can construct a garden faerie house using natural materials found at Bernheim, from acorns to flowers and more! Join our Volunteer Naturalists at discovery stations and art and craft activities.

Be sure to wear your best wings or hats for the Faerie Parade. No costume? No problem – we will have a booth full of costumes for you to borrow so you can march alongside all the faeries, gnomes, and magical creatures or you can make a crown out of honeysuckle. The parade will march around the Visitor Center at 1:30 p.m. Meet behind the Visitor Center at 1:15 to get lined up to march.

This is a free event. $15 recommended donation per car for non-members still applies.

Save the dates for the rest of this year’s festivals:

We’ll see you Saturday!
