Join us for Return of the Thunderbird

A 90th Anniversary Special Lecture on Bernheim’s Golden Eagle Project

Learn about Harper, the magnificent Thunderbird, and the Bernheim Golden Eagle Project. Join us on January 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bernheim’s Visitor Center.

Bernheim Forest Manager Andrew Berry will discuss topics including natural history and mythology of eastern golden eagles and conservation strategies for these amazing animals.

Golden eagles found in Kentucky during the winter are distinct from the more abundant population found throughout the western United States. Collectively known as the ‘eastern golden eagles,’ these birds are believed to have minimal interaction, if any at all, with the western population and have a much lower population with estimates ranging from as few as 1000 to 2500 individuals.

Seating is limited, so make your reservation today. Tickets are $10 per person. Call (502) 955-8512 to reserve your space today!
