L+A+N+D is an annual celebration of the best proposals for large-scale outdoor installations from artists, architects, landscape architects, designers, and creatives of all kinds. L+A+N+D will spark imaginations, conversations, and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
L+A+N+D art experiences will address conservation, biodiversity, sustainability, climate science, as well as notions of beauty and the relationship between humans and nature.
Nature needs art now more than ever! Art engages people in different ways from science and education, attaches people's hearts to what they deem important, and makes emotional connections that inspire change.
L+A+N+D will inspire and connect everyone to nature through art, providing access to those who might not visit art galleries or museums or have a known interest in art, exposing them to new and diverse voices and perspectives on the natural world.
Just like the Forest Giants in a Giant Forest, L+A+N+D will provide long-term financial health and sustainability for Bernheim through projected attendance, membership increase, and earned and gifted revenue growth. L+A+N+D will be a tourism draw, contributing to economic development for the region and throughout Kentucky.
